Granite Dells, Prescott, Arizona
I'm not sure how many of you are like I am in this regard but there are some places that I always return to time and time again, to both enjoy and to photograph. This little area is one of them. It's not just the allure of the lake and surrounding boulder formations; the entire area is quite breathtaking in its beauty. I find this spot particularly special within the Dells and I will return there often, trying to capture a different subtlety in the scene. That little rock on top of the big boulder and the "bonsai" growing through the rocks create a harmonious, pleasing vista that probably is also unique within this big, wide world. Some places are just special and for me, this is one of them. I like to think I honor it by trying to capture as many photographic nuances that I can, this one a bit dark and ominous due to the storm clouds and black and white processing.
